Sometimes words mean little to nothing.
I wonder how many kids really don't know?
since no first grader has the ability to type on a keyboard with enough skill, I'd say all of them know what a pencil is.
@Alex - interesting question.
@Adam - my three year old niece had a keyboard with small words.
The technology of yesteryear!
Really and try finding a decent eraser!!
And then there were/are (?) those ginormous pencil sharpeners attached to the wall that, when you use them, sound like a freight train barreling through the room. Yeah, that would freak out your modern day kid.
Mess up a Mario run for sure!
I bet most of us don't hold it in our hands often either
Probably not - but I use a mechanical pencil most every day to chart things.
So who uses a pencil?
I use a mechanical and drawing pencils.
Sad but true. I hate pencils, for the record. I have one mechanical pencil that I use once a year, when my agent sends me the "final pass pages" of my book and I'm required to make corrections in pencil! That's it.
I always loved pencils but I do a lot of drawing,
Sadly, this is true. Both of my girls have horrible handwriting, and they've even done away with learning cursive in school.
Really - makes sense I suppose.
